The goals of the Business Advocacy Task Force are to focus on getting elected and community leaders together to work on concerns facing the business community, economic vitality, and quality of life - including workforce, professional development, and business resources. The task force is a non-partisan organization and shall neither endorse candidates for public office/political parties. The Committee meets monthly, usually on the second Thursday of each month at 8 am.

Are you interested in getting more involved with the Chamber?  Are you a new member who would like to meet fellow new members in an informal environment?  The Marion Chamber invites you to a Member Orientation on Thursday, February 9th from 3 pm - close at Crown Brew in Marion.  This event is free to all members, though we ask you to pre-register since space it limited.  

The goals for the Member Orientations are to spotlight upcoming Chamber programing, for new and current members to meet and build their business network, and to share information and concerns in a small group setting.   Enjoy a delicious Crown Brew beverage at this informal gathering (usually runs about and hour).

The SIU Carbondale campus is approximately 100 miles from St. Louis, 200 miles from Nashville, TN and 300 miles from Chicago. Hotel accommodations can be made in Carbondale or Marion, IL (approximately 16 miles east of Carbondale and off of Interstate 57). We encourage you to make your lodging arrangements early.  Hotel discount rates are available in Carbondale.

The Marion VA is hosting the 1st Black History Federal Career Workshop on February 21st. The reason for this workshop is that many unemployed Veterans and civilians have a hard time navigating through the USA jobs process which disqualified them for positions. This workshop is geared to assisting Veterans and Civilians with applying for Federal jobs on USA JOBS and providing pointers to make the process as successful as possible.
