Scholarship Information
The Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation understands that our workforce is made of experts and leaders from all different backgrounds and career goals. We are excited to support our 'trades-based' employers and want to support those entering these fields. The Trades Scholarship is for $1000 towards course certifications, association fees, books, PPE, tools, and equipment. We will be giving out two scholarships for those entering the trades from May 2024 through May 2025.
Requirements
A completed Application Packet, which includes:
- Print out of the scholarship submission confirmation email. Make sure it includes:
- Signature of a parent or Guardian for those under 18. - Signature line will be in confirmation email.
- Signature of a Marion Chamber of Commerce Member, signed by a member in good standing. (Visit marionillinois.com for a member directory) - Signature line will be in confirmation email.
- Official High School Transcript from Marion High School.
- Acceptance into a skilled trade program.
- A Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor, coach, or employer, who is not related to the applicant
Disbursement
Due to the different timelines for trade/union application processes, scholarship funds will be dispersed once the student has been officially accepted into the program. Proof of acceptance must be provided to the Marion Chamber.

Financial scholarship is given in one payment and recipient will be contacted to pick it up. Disbursement must be collected within nine (9) months of the award date.
