Lunch & Learn March 2019: Leadership Featuring Jerry Kill
03/27/19

Eat, learn, discuss & grow!
Raise your leadership and connect with others in a fun learning environment!

The Marion Chamber of Commerce hosts a Lunch & Learn each month as part of the Leadership Marion program, sponsored by Heartland Regional Medical Center. Admission is $15 per Marion Chamber member ($20 for non-Chamber).  Lunch and drinks provided courtesy of Heartland Regional Medical Center. Contact the Marion Chamber at (618) 997-6311 or director@marionillinois.com to secure your seat or for more information.

This month's Lunch & Learn will be held on March 27th from noon - 1 p.m. at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Classroom 1&4.

This Month's Topic: The newly named SIUC Athletic Director Jerry Kill will join us to discuss leadership on and off the gridiron.

Legendary football coach Jerry Kill, who led the Salukis to five consecutive NCAA playoff appearances from 2003-07, returned to Southern Illinois
University in March 2018 as a special assistant to the chancellor, and his role was expanded in April 2018 to include oversight of Athletics. Kill was head football coach at SIU from 2001 to 2007, leading the Salukis to three straight Gateway Football Conference Championships.

While at SIU he received the prestigious Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year Award in 2004 and the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award in 2007. He left SIU to serve as head coach at Northern Illinois from 2008 to 2010, delivering three bowl eligible teams, and later became head coach at Minnesota, winning Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2014.

In a brief amount of time, you will receive the best leadership principles, interact with other growing leaders, and discuss how to apply effective practices to your organization.  After each Lunch & Learn, you will walk away with at least one mind changing idea that will create a desire for motivation and self-improvement. This is the perfect professional development opportunity to increase levels of influence and potential in yourself and in the teams you lead.

Facilitator: Russell  Williams, Certified Leadership and Personal Growth Coach, Speaker, and Teacher. For more information, visit EmpowermentMentor.com/RussellWilliams

Grad Spree 2019 Sponsorship
05/16/19 - 05/17/19

The Marion Chamber Foundation presents the 2019 Friends For Life Graduation Spree on Thursday, May 16 at the SIU Rec Center.

The cost to provide this event last year was approximately $12,000 with the average cost being about $130 per student. Marion Grad Spree would not be possible without the help of our Chamber and community members. We are writing to you today to request donations of funds to help cover the cost of the event and door prize items to giveaway to seniors throughout the night.

For businesses and individuals, we have the following sponsorship levels available: Silver-$250, Gold-$500, and Platinum-$1000+. Of course, any amount is appreciated. We will honor our Gold & Platinum Sponsors by including their name and link to their Web site in Grad Spree promotional materials, on our website, newsletter and email blasts. A donation statement for your taxes is available upon request.

Also, please consider volunteering to chaperone during this year’s Grad Spree. Last year, more than 30 people volunteered to chaperone this annual event. We anticipate needing at least 30 chaperones again this year. Any time you can volunteer will help make this a memorable night for the seniors. To sign up to volunteer, call the Chamber at 997-6311 or e-mail the Chamber at director@marionillinois.com.

Thank you for your support of the 2018 Grad Spree event! Help us spread the word about this great event by: The Marion Chamber of Commerce Grad Spree Committee is proud to offer this event to our graduating seniors. We have kept our seniors safe for more than 30 years.
