6th Annual Marion Chamber Legislative Summit

Event Description

The 2021 Legislative Summit will be held on August 27th at Kokopelli.  This event is an informative discussion between Federal & Springfield leaders, Williamson County elected officials, and Marion business leaders. Attendees share lunch, information, and political awareness of issues facing our area.

Elected officials are encouraged to attend and present about programs and efforts that impact the Southern Illinois region. Members of the media are included in this event and attendee questions will be screened before the Q&A session.

Schedule:
11:00 am: Lunch, BBQ Pulled Pork, Potato Salad, Baked Beans
11:30 am: Legislative Updates followed by Q&A session. After the Legislative updates, networking with community and state leaders will take place till 1:30 pm.

If you register for the event and are unable to attend, a 24-hour notice is required or you will be invoiced. Note: If you have registered and are unable to attend, you may transfer to a fellow employee without penalty. A refund will only be given to those with a paid registration who cancel more than 24 hours prior to the event. 

The Legislative Affairs Committee meets on the third Thursday of each month at 8 a.m. at South Porte Bank in Marion. The Marion Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee serves as a research and advisory committee for the Chamber's Board of Directors. The goals of the Legislative Affairs Committee are to monitor governmental matters that could impact the community or local business, present recommendations to the Chamber's Board of Directors, and to assist in the initiation of the appropriate action. The Legislative Affairs Committee is a non-partisan organization and shall neither endorse candidates for public office nor political parties.
