Centerstone will host a free webinar entitled Stress and Grief During the Holidays on Wednesday, December 6 from 10-11 a.m. CT via Zoom. CEUs are available.

The holidays can bring so much joy but also, for some, great pain. Exploring topics of grief and holiday stress, Dr. Melissa Flint will provide practical education and guidance about how we can carry both the joy and sorrow we hold in times of loss into the holiday season and find pieces of peace and hope during this time of the year.

Objectives of the webinar include:

  • Identify and self-assess levels of expectation about the holiday season (“perfect holiday syndrome”)
  • Learn about two or more reasons why people might feel more out of control during the holidays
  • Describe ways that our grief can manifest during the holidays
  • Identify at least two ways to prevent feeling burned out during the stress of the holiday season.

The presenter of the webinar will be Melissa Flint, Psy.D., FT, CCTP. Dr. Flint received both her masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. Dr. Flint serves as a tenured professor in the clinical psychology program at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. Her primary area of interest is grief and loss, particularly working with families who have experienced the death of their child/children. Other specialty areas include trauma/abuse and depression, workplace well being and overall quality of life issues.

This training has 1 hour of continuing education approved for IL LCPC / LPC, IL LCSW / LSW, and IL Nursing (LPN, RN, APN) under IDFPR Professional Counselor CE License No. 197.000263 and IDFPR Nurse CE Sponsor License No. 236.000184. Show Begins When Everyone is Seated

Murder in Red & Green

An innocent (?) audience member is poisoned and three others have close calls.  All have one thing in common – a name, Ann Green.  But, outside of that, they have very LITTLE in common.  One is a waitress at a diner, one is a kindergarten teacher, and the other is a “professional dance instructor.”  The detective who takes command of the investigation must decide which of the three is the real intended victim and which one is the murderer.  Audience members are called upon to “testify” about things they learned about the victim before her untimely demise.

Join us for a night of wine, music, murder and more.

UGLY SWEATER CONTEST:  Come dressed to impress in your most snazzy, tacky, ugly  sweater or holiday themed outfit for a chance to win fun prizes from Blue Sky Vineyard.

MENU:  Ham w/ Pineapple & Cherries, Smoked Turkey w/ Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Cranberry Sauce, Rolls & Wine Infused Brownie Trifle

Meal served as a buffet.  Catered By:  RE & Sandy’s Catering

Show By:  Murder to Go Productions | This company is responsible for the acts at the Badgett Playhouse in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.

Cost:  $55.00 per person

Wine Club Members:  $50.00 per person for Wine Club Members – Please Call Winery for Tickets

Chris Connelly & Matt Walker are both 30+ year veterans of the music business.

Chris moved from his native Scotland in the 80’s to pursue a career in gratuitous volume and outrage with techno-rednecks The Revolting Cocks and Ministry.

Matt has brought his formidable drumming skills to renowned bands over the years including Filter, The Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage & Morrissey.

Matt and Chris were collaborating on a song when the seed was sown to start a band dedicated to the music of David Bowie. A stellar band was culled from Chicago’s elite musicians, all veterans in their own right with excellent musical pedigrees.
