Event Description
Join fellow business leaders for an upcoming Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization (IWG) Illinois Basin Workshop on March 8th hosted by the Greater Egypt Regional Planning and Development Commission at 3117 Civic Circle Blvd, Suite A, Marion, IL 62959 at 9:00am to 4:30pm.

The workshop is designed to engage community leaders and share information about opportunities for regional economic diversification and growth in the Illinois Basin in response to coal mines and power plant closures. The Illinois Basin is one of six regions in the nation identified as most vulnerable to further declines in coal-related employment. The IWG believes that all of these communities deserve access to high-quality jobs, reliable broadband, good roads, clean water, and affordable transportation.
