Event Description
Rend Lake College, along with Withers Broadcasting and WSIL TV3, will host the annual Job Search Party at the Rend Lake College Event Center on the Ina campus Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 9:00a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
This event is open to businesses actively seeking employees. It is designed to provide employers with the opportunity to discuss job and/or career opportunities with RLC students and graduates, as well as the general public. Participants will be encouraged to bring resumes.
RLC students are encouraged to attend the Job Search Party. Events at RLC focus on fulfilling our Value Statement: In serving our students and community, we strive to be student-focused, authentic, and resourceful. With that in mind, we will continue to encourage our students to attend the event, hopefully to have them return after graduation to take advantage of this great opportunity. We will provide RLC students with red name badges as a courtesy to the employers, so you will know that students are observing and learning. We will also inform instructors that there will be a student registration table and they should not require students to ask for signatures from employers. We hope that this will give you an advantage to know whether you are speaking with a job seeker or a student, and that you will give those students an encouraging word.
The door prizes, provided by employers the past three years, have been a great draw for this event. With sincere appreciation, we are asking for donations again this year.
There is no registration fee. The college will provide tables and chairs, and electrical access (if requested). Your table will be ready for you at 8:30 a.m. Please be prepared to greet jobseekers by 9:00 a.m. The event has been publicized to run from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., so we ask that you remain for the duration of the event in order to accommodate job seekers arriving later. A hospitality room will be available to registered employers; I will provide more information with your confirmation.
Please complete the registration form by Friday, March 31, 2023. You will receive an email confirmation. We encourage you to register early.

Details
For those that attended the Chamber's February Membership Luncheon, a suggestion was brought up about looking outside of Williamson County for employees since our unemployment rate is lower than the surrounding counties. This might be a good opportunity to promote your business as an employment option!
