Event Description
Marion Carnegie Library to host a color run as their Summer Reading Kickoff event. The library has been busy planning their “Reading Colors Your World” summer programs and this year is hosting a 5K and fun run to start the festivities. The Friends of the Marion Carnegie Library have sponsored the event, which is being managed by Run to Succeed Sports. The run will take place on Saturday, May 29 at the library.

Details
The 5k begins at 9am with the shorter fun run starting at 10:15. Participants should register for the race on the Run to Succeed website before May 19th to be guaranteed an official t-shirt. The cost to run the 5k is $25 and the fun run is only $10. The community is encouraged to come and watch their friends, family and neighbors participate as they get covered in color!
At the kickoff, register for the MCL Summer Reading Program, learn about upcoming programs, participate in fun activities and check out some great books! Reading programs and activities are planned for all ages to no one has so miss out on the action!
All proceeds from the color run kickoff will go to the Friends of the Library, whose mission is to help secure funding for future library programs and projects. The library is currently seeking volunteers for the 5k and summer reading sponsors to help us make the largest impact on our community.
